wow
This journal has not been updated since December 2, 2007. Grad school and various other things (such as issues with getting my brushes to install on PSP on my new-ish computer) have kept me from icon-making.

However, I am hoping to be able to have more time to make icons in the future. :) The Insane Icon Project has essentially been scrapped, due to the fact that I have way too many movies to try to make icons of all of them. However, I will continue going through my movies and making vast amounts of icons from the ones I feel like doing. And yes, the Star Wars episodes 5 and 6 icons WILL be made. I have the caps, I just need to make them into icons.

Anyway, the main point of this post is to inform y'all that I am going through a domain change. All of the graphics posted here are uploaded to my (old) personal domain which will be expiring in a few days. I am in the process of uploading them to my new personal domain, which entails going through all my old posts and replacing the old URLs with the new ones.

So if you go to an entry and the icons are not showing up, do not be panic, they will be up soonish.

hi!
Greetings, friends. You probably haven't seen a post here in a long time, save for the one I just posted about the Insane Icon Project. After coming to the realization that it really had been a long time since I'd posted here, I decided to kick myself in the butt and get working again. I will be redoing a few things around here (including the aforementioned re-post of the information about the Insane Icon Project), and hopefully soon I will have more icons to be posted here, including the next two entries in the Insane Icon Project: Star Wars episodes 5 and 6 (The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi).

I just thought I would give you all a heads-up, and let you all know that I'm not dead or anything, and I will be making more icons soon. :) As always, requests are open, though I may re-do that post to make it easier to request icons.

Oh, and finally, every entry in this journal has been tagged for further ease of browsing.

What, you might ask, is the Insane Icon Project?

Well, back in 2004, I was inspired into insanity by an equally insane project that [info]catatonic1242 was undertaking. Hers was to make five icons from each episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series. My idea leaned more towards my own obsession: movies. At the time, I had barely 100 movies on DVD, so I thought that, while insane, this could be a fun, light project.

Presently, I own nearly 200 movies on DVD. Although roughly double the number of movies I had when I'd started, I am still determined to make icons from every single movie I own. That, my friends, is the insane icon project. Some number (there isn't a set number) of icons from every single movie I own. This is the information post on the project, so that you can all see how crazy I am. :)

If you would like to request a graphic, leave a comment to this post. However, I have some rules about graphic requests:

    1. If you request a graphic, please use it. I don't want to spend the time making you an icon if it's just going to sit on your computer's hard drive for all eternity. Even if it's only up for a day or two, please at least have it up. With credit, of course.

    2. Specify if you want it to be shareable or not. As a general rule, any graphics I make for a person aren't shareable for the general public unless the person it's made for has said I can share it. However, because I am the one who makes them, unless the graphic is specific for you (like, your picture[s] or your username), I may take liberty and use it myself. ;)

    3. If you're requesting a graphic, you can find a list of the DVDs I own here. If you want anything else (actors, actresses, other movies or TV shows), you must provide me with a resource of decent pictures or screen-captures.

    4. If you request a graphic, be patient. I may not have the necessary DVD with me, or I might be swamped with other work. Don't worry that I have forgotten about your request, though. I will get to it eventually.

    5. If you request a header and want a matching icon, put that in the "anything else" part of the form.

Now that we've gone over the rules, here is a form to fill out:

Request form. )

Please note that this does not apply to general requests for icons for the Insane Icon Project. All requests for those icons (non-specific requests for icons shareable for the general public, to be made when I do that movie) should be placed as a comment to the introduction post.

. . . to my icon journal! Yay! :)

The rules (which are also up in my userinfo) are as follows:

Icons:
1. Please comment if you're taking an icon. I like to know where they're ending up.
2. Please credit either [info]smoothyrus or [info]garnet_sunrise in your icon keywords (or in the icon comments bar). Either username is fine and will work.
3. Sharing makes the world go around. If someone sees you using one of my icons and would like to use it, let them know that it was made by me, and tell them that they're free to use it, as well. Hogging of my icons is not permitted, unless it's an icon I made specifically for you (in which case it's up to you whether it's shared or not).
4. Please copy the icons to your own computer or your own server. I don't like it when people steal my bandwidth. It's not nice.
5. Textless icons are blanks, not bases. Please do not edit them. If you want text, ask and I'll add it.

Headers:
1. Please comment if you're taking a header and / or the code associated with it. I like to know where they're ending up. If you plan to use my headers on a website, include the address, please.
2. Please credit either [info]smoothyrus or [info]garnet_sunrise in your userinfo if you're using my header / code on livejournal. Credit somewhere obvious on your site if you're using my header / code on a personal website.
3. Please copy the headers to your own computer or your own server. I don't like it when people steal my bandwidth. It's not nice.
5. If the header doesn't have text, that's usually for a reason. Please do not edit them. If you want text, ask and I'll add it.
